Obsidian Key

Obsidian Key Logo

Obsidian Key is probably my most successful music project and it’s all about Progressive Rock Metal, or, as I prefer to call it, all about Free Rock.

Obsidian-Key’s music style is also influenced by psychedelia, jazz fusion and the creativity of the compositions span to a wide range of other music genres like classical, symphonic, ethnic and folk with a mixture of ethereal, surreal and epic atmospheres.

Obsidian Key’s sound is characterised by the use of traditional rock music instruments:

  • Guitars
  • Bass guitar
  • Drums
  • Digital synthesizers and electric organ

Mixed with instruments more common in classical music:

  • Piano
  • Violins, Violas, Cellos
  • Horns and flutes
  • Harps
  • Percussions

I do write the music and most of the lyrics, sing and play all of the instruments on all of the Obsidian Key albums/Singles, alongside many guest musicians. An updated list of the guest musicians can be found on the official site at Obsidian Key’s guest musicians.

Steady Pitch

Steady Pitch

Steady Pitch is an instrumental Rock Blues trio with some Jazz fusion and funk influences and traces of a bit of everything else!

I co-founded Steady Pitch with Jools G-Man Kelly bassist.

It’s definitely a pleasure to play in a power trio, where I am absolutely free to play lead and rhythm sessions in continuous changing without worrying too much about the orchestration of the tracks, definitely total fun playing it! 🙂

Steady Pitch sound is minimalistic compared to Obsidian Key (which is far more symphonic and rich), but this makes it possible to explore guitar playing (and drum playing, as on the first EP I played also drums) in a total different dimension. Steady Pitch sound is mostly composed by Guitars, Bass and drums, but at times we use MIDI guitar and bass to expand our sonorities through the use of synthesised sounds.
